In Copacabana (Bolivia) they recommended us not to visit Puno, arguing that there was really nothing interesting to discover as the floating islands on this side of Titicaca are very touristy. We decided not to pay attention to the recommendations and we dedicated two days to Puno. We were intrigued by the way of life of the inhabitants of these artificial islands made of totora. So we made a small boat trip starting from the port of Puno. Honestly, yes, everything is very oriented towards tourism, even though the place has something special so if you are in the area it is worth the visit.

When is the best time to visit Peru?
The best season is during the dry season, which covers the months April to the end of September. In October the rains begin and you can find Machu Picchu covered by clouds.
