The lagoons that comprise the complex are Laguna Shimbe, Laguna Negra, Laguna del Rey, Laguna los Tres Amores, Laguna Barro, El Pato, La Huaca, and even the same set of Las Arrebiatadas. Jaguar Temple
19 km north of Huancabamba, Sondorillo district (1 hr. by car). This religious center was built in 1200 AD. C., where a stone sculpture that portrays a couple of jaguars stands out. In the middle of the 15th century, the Incas conquered the territory and imposed the cult of the sun and covered it with red clay.
Las Huaringas Lagoons
27 km north of Huancabamba to the village of Salalá (2 h 30 min by car). Then 15 km to La Laguna Negra (2 h 30 min on foot, mule or on the back of a beast). It is a complex of cold water lagoons recognized for their healing properties.
How to get to Huancabamba?
