Mountain Biking Sacred Valley
Description
Experience one of Cusco's most popular mountain bike adventures, mixing Andean landscapes, Inca archaeological sites, and living culture on a ride of about 36 km, suitable for easy to moderate level cyclists.
At 7:00 a.m., we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to head to the town of Chinchero, located about 40 minutes from the city. From there, we'll travel 15 more minutes to the bike tour starting point. After putting on our safety gear (helmet and gloves), we'll begin our bike journey on dirt trails and country roads, with amazing views of the Andes. Our first stop will be the Huaypo Lake viewpoint, where you can see a beautiful landscape surrounded by farm fields and snow-capped mountains.
We'll continue the ride through the town of Cruzpata, enjoying a smooth and scenic part. After about an hour of pedaling, we'll reach a meeting point where our vehicle will be waiting for us. From there, we'll travel by transport to the community of Misminay, from where you can see the impressive Moray archaeological site, famous for its round terraces used as an agricultural lab in Inca times.
From Misminay, we'll get back on our bikes and start the downhill ride to the amazing Maras Salt Mines, a group of over 3,000 salt ponds active since pre-Inca times. Here, our guide will explain their history, production process, and how important they are for the local economy. After exploring this unique landscape, we'll get back on our private transport to return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.
