I have to say that I never complained about the taste or quality of a meal, although they were somewhat expensive the food was delicious.

As an additional tip for your trip to Machu Picchu, it is forbidden to enter the ruins with food, you are only allowed to enter with a bottle of water, so if you were planning to bring food to eat inside, it will not be possible. You can leave your backpack in some lockers at the entrance and eat there, which is what many do, or you can choose to eat at the restaurant that is there.
