The day begins early with the necessary preparation and a good breakfast before starting the journey along this ancient path. In this sense, at 06:30 hours we will take a short walk to the Ollantaytambo station to board the 07:20 train. This panoramic trip will take us directly to kilometer 104, the strategic control point where, at 08:20 hours, we will officially start our expedition, entering a spectacular route heading toward Machu Picchu.

The initial section will lead us to explore "Chachabamba" (2,200 m), a fascinating archaeological site located a few meters from the Urubamba River. Next, we will start a steady climb up the mountain until we reach the imposing complex of "Wiñaywayna" (2,650 m). It is here where, around 12:00 hours, we will make a stop for lunch and to regain energy, taking advantage of the environment to observe the wide local biodiversity, which includes a great variety of flora, fauna and endemic birds that live along the route.

Later, at 13:00 hours, we will resume our march to face the final section of this journey, which requires between 6 and 7 hours of total walking. In this way, this entire trip will be crowned upon arriving at the iconic "Inti Punku" ("Sun Gate", at 2,720 m), the threshold that will give us the first and imposing panoramic view of Machu Picchu (2,490 m). Finally, we will begin the continuous descent toward the town of Aguas Calientes, arriving at approximately 18:00 hours to settle into our accommodation and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

The peak day of this adventure through the Sacred Valley and Short Inca Trail 3 days starts at 04:00 hours, preparing us for the exciting upward hike toward the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. In this way, we will reach the top at the ideal time to start, at 06:00 hours, a detailed guided tour.

To guarantee a complete experience, our exploration will be done through Circuit 2, the technical route that allows a full and thorough tour of the main temples, residences, and terraces of the archaeological complex. However, if due to high international demand there is no availability, the visit will be done through Circuit 1 or Circuit 3, which offer equally fascinating and historical perspectives of the Inca sanctuary.

Additionally, there is the possibility of crowning the peaks that stand beside the citadel, a challenge that requires strict planning. Specifically, the breathtaking climb to Huayna Picchu requires the early purchase of Circuit 3A, while the long hike toward the Machu Picchu Mountain demands the ticket for Circuit 1A. Consequently, it is important to highlight that both options involve an extra cost and need a confirmed reservation well in advance due to reduced capacity.

Later, upon finishing our tour of Machu Picchu at 09:00 hours, we will start the descent back toward the town of Aguas Calientes. There, you will enjoy plenty of free time to have lunch (not included in the package), explore the picturesque streets of the town, or visit the craft fairs at your own pace. Finally, the return logistics will begin at 19:00 hours by boarding the train to Ollantaytambo, where a private tourist transport will be waiting for us to start the final stretch toward the city of Cusco, leaving you back in the comfort of your hotel around 22:00 hours to conclude our expedition.

We spend a night in small locally owned hotel with private bathrooms and breakfast facilities (Double or Matrimonial room). All of the hotels we use in Aguas Calientes are located within walking distance of the train stations.

Both are located in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town, and each bedroom has a private bathroom and confortable beds (Double or Matrimonial) for your confort. Also, it includes the breakfast and a hot beverages for free.

During the 3 day Sacred Valley VIP to Inca Trail, we request the hotels to get ready your rooms for time of your arrival, especially if you arrive prior to standard check-in time. Nevertheless, this is not always possible. In this case, you just store your luggage in that hotel storage room and you can explore around your new destination in between. We recommend the early booking of single supplements and of pre/post-tour accommodation. Single accommodation can be arranged for a supplement, subject to availability. Please request this at the time of booking.

Generally speaking you should pack as lightly as possible.you will carry your luggage from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes town. We recommend keeping the weight under 5 kg/10lb (included personal clothes). You will need to carry daypack.

You will not need to carry a sleeping bag, because you will spend a night in the hotel in Machu Picchu If very important your take best cover backpacker, because the weather in Inca Trail is change every date, we can’t predict it raining or no. If you don’t have, we recommended to putting your clothes and other personal equipment inside the plastic bag.

Extra Luggage: If you have extra luggage, you can be left safely in your hotel in Cusco, in the Ollantaytambo train station or Tierras Vivas store luggage. if you decided in our store luggage, in the morning our driver will pick your luggage and He leave in our office and we will save 2 days and when you will return to Cusco, you can pick your luggage..
