Snack Bag

Snack Bag

Travelling is an exciting and thrilling experience in anyone's life. It is an opportunity to try new things, be part of new experiences, and generally have a better outlook on life. Imagine, however, that every metre of land around the trail would be stacked with plastic bags of groceries full of plastic garbage. That is the amount of plastic waste that ends up in our rivers, lakes, and oceans every year. This visual is scary.

Responsible People (keeping a sustainable travel style) is about adopting ecological methods and procedures that can help you reduce plastic waste, save energy and money, and leave nothing but your own footprints. If you practice green methods when you are at home, then it is a great idea to continue with the same procedures on the go to save energy for the future.

Tierras Vivas creates methods to protect the environment, usually in Peru. There is a lack of education about the development of plastics and the damages they cause. All travellers and locals use plastic. For example: If you want to buy snacks at a local market, local people provide you with a plastic bag. Some stores supply a paper snack bag that needs to be discarded after use because it can no longer be used. And that is why Tierras Vivas came up with the idea of providing a "Snack Bag". This is a small cotton bag where you can carry your snacks and water. When you finish your snack, you can go to a local market to buy more. So you can reuse this bag again and again. We offer two versions of services that include this bag and its fillings. The first version called simply "Snack Bag" is suitable for short tours or camping and it is included in our trips such as Machu Picchu Tours and the 2-day Inca Trail Hike with Camping. The second extended version named "Box Lunch + Snack Bag" includes a box lunch and filled snack bag and is included in the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, One Day Hike Royal Inca Trail, and other treks.
