3-Day Machu Picchu Tour from Lima for Cruise Passengers | 2026 & 2027

Based on the scheduled entry time and circuit assigned for your Machu Picchu Cruise Tour, your guide will confirm the exact pickup time from your hotel.

You'll be picked up and transferred to the bus station, where you'll board the bus heading to Machu Picchu. The ride takes about 30 minutes, during which you'll take in the natural scenery and local flora of Cusco. Upon arrival, you'll be dropped off at the main entrance of Machu Picchu, where your documentation and entrance ticket will be checked. It's essential to provide accurate personal information at the time of booking, since any discrepancy found during this check-in process could prevent you from entering.

Once inside, your guided tour will follow the itinerary of the circuit and route assigned to you based on same-day availability:

If you were assigned Circuit 2 – Route A or B, this route allows full exploration of the Inca citadel. Your guide will take you up to the highest point of the site, starting with a short walk from the main entrance to the first checkpoint, then continuing up a set of stone stairs. Along the way, you'll stop at several viewpoints for photos, with guided commentary throughout. Once you reach the top — an open esplanade near the Guardian's House — you'll take in a panoramic view of the entire citadel. From there, you'll descend and continue the guided tour for about 3 hours, visiting the most important sites within Machu Picchu.

If you were assigned Circuit 3 – Route B (Lower Terrace), you'll enter through Gate 2, on the lower section of the citadel. You'll descend toward the lower part of Machu Picchu, where the first sights are Inca terraces and part of the Llaqta (urban sector) of Machu Picchu. This guided tour lasts about 2 hours and includes visits to the Temple of the Sun, the main plaza, and the Sacred Rock, before looping back through the Llaqta toward the exit gate.

If you were assigned Circuit 1 – Route B (Upper Terrace), this route offers only a panoramic view from the upper section of Machu Picchu, near the Inca cemetery and the Guardian's House, without entering the main urban sector.

Once the guided tour is complete, you'll board the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you'll catch the return train to Ollantaytambo. Our representative will be waiting there with a sign bearing your name to take you back to Cusco. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel.

On your last day in Cusco, you have the option to add an excursion before your return flight, available at an extra cost and depending on your flight schedule for that day:

Option A: Sacred Valley, Maras and Salineras Tour (optional, at an additional cost) Spend the morning or afternoon visiting the Sacred Valley, including the town of Maras and the Salineras salt mines, where pre-Inca terraced pools have been used for salt extraction for centuries.

Option B: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) Trek This full-day trek takes you to the colorful slopes of Vinicunca. Physical Rating: Level 4 (on a 1–5 scale), reaching an altitude of approximately 5,200 meters (17,060 feet). Good physical condition and prior acclimatization are recommended.

Based on your return flight time, our transfer service will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you'll be transferred to the Port of Callao to board your cruise.

Important Note:

Some cruise itineraries use a different embarkation port, which our travel agents will confirm with you in advance. The alternate embarkation port is the Port of Paracas, located in Paracas Bay (Pisco), approximately 278 km (173 miles) from Lima. If a transfer to this port is required, our representative will pick you up at the international airport and take you directly to the Port of Paracas. This transfer takes approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes, after which you'll be ready to board your cruise.
