Maras Moray & Salt Mines Tour

    Code: PMMST

The Maras, Moray & Salt Mines tour involves 4 hrs tour on the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
At first glimpse Moray looks like a Greek amphitheater, but closer inspection reveals what researchers believe may have been a crop laboratory used by the Incas to find the best conditions for allowing particular species to thrive.

There are four overlapping muyus (slightly elliptical terraces) with each tier experiencing a different temperature due to o varying levels of sun, shared, and elevation, and the largest being 148 ft (45m) deep. Built on retaining walls filled with soil, and watered by a complex irrigation system, the 7ft (2 m) high terraces show traces of about 250 cereals and vegetables.

The nearby Salinas de Maras (salt mines), dating back to pre-Columbian times, is in stark contrast. The natural salty water is channeled into 3000 man-made wells and left to evaporate in the sun. Hundreds of miners work on the site even now, demonstrating their ancient working techniques.

    Sacred Valley Tour

Currently, there are numerous Peruvian archaeologists and international teams of researchers studying the Inca architectural complex along the Urubamba River. Adventurers, walkers, lovers of mystic tourism and enlightened travelers swell the ranks of visitors who arrive in the valley. Many may not stop their hurried pilgrimage to the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. However, in the Sacred Valley it is still possible to walk calmly, discovering places of unusual natural beauty, while admiring the legacy of the Incas, guarded in this majestic region of the eastern Andes.Sacred Valley Tour

    Machu Picchu Day Trip

Even today the certainties about Machu Picchu are scarce. It is known that the Incas built it around 1450 and abandoned it a hundred years later, after the Spanish conquest. Its geographical isolation, between jungle and mountains, made it go unnoticed until 1911, when the American historian Hiram Bingham reached the ruins thanks to the local shepherds and spread his vestiges to the rest of the world. Some researchers believe that it was the resting place of Inca royalty, others think it hosted a ceremonial center or a military fortress. Machu Picchu Day Trip

    City Tour in Cusco

Touring the Historic Center of Cusco is like going through a gigantic museum; The city of Cusco will delight you with Spanish constructions, built on impressive walls of ancient Inca buildings.

Among the most astonishing are the Cathedral of Cusco, the Company of Jesus, the Convent of Santo Domingo, built on one of the most amazing Inca temples of the city, the Sun Temple, but there are many, many constructions that can be considered architectural works of art. City Tour in Cusco
